Physical Education

I graduated from Northeast High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

I received a bachelors degree in physical education from the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida, where I played basketball, softball and volleyball.

My masters degree is in education with an emphasis in physical education from the University of South Alabama, Mobile, Alabama

I was raised in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  It was a great place to be a kid, we played outside 365 days a year! We didn't have team sports in high school, so I played park ball and swam on my high school swim team. When I went to college, I played basketball, softball and volleyball as well as softball on a traveling team during the summers. I traveled from Pennsylvania to Utah to California playing softball.

Career wise, after graduating from "South" I went back to Florida to coach in the junior college system for five years before returning to Mobile. I worked retail for several years before I realized that my first love was teaching elementary children.

I have traveled to all seven continents, 90 countries, 13 provinces and the 3 territories of Canada and all fifty states! I love to go new places and I'm always looking for the next adventure. In December of 2008, I even went to Tanzania, Africa and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Since 1985 I have been a member of the Amateur Softball Association, as an umpire.  In those twenty nine years, I have been awarded Elite status and have officiated over twenty nine National Tournaments.  I also officiate high school softball and volleyball. and have refereed several State tournaments.  In January of 2014 I was inducted into the Alabama Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame as the first female umpire.
